Post-docs

Dr. Prajnashree Panda
Post-doc Fellow (March 2025- April 2026)
Dr. Prajnashree Panda obtained her Master’s degree in Chemistry from Ravenshaw University, Odisha, India, and completed her Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry at the School of Chemical Sciences, National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar. Her doctoral research focused on the development of advanced materials for energy storage and conversion, with particular emphasis on water splitting and supercapacitor technologies. Her post-doctoral research at ESRL centered on the design and development of high-performance cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries.

Harsh Mourya
Gaurav Meshram graduated from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Tirupati with a dual degree of BS and MS. At the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai, he finished his master's thesis with a focus on the synthesis of Prussian White for use in sodium-ion batteries. His areas of interest in study are electrochemical energy storage and materials science, with a focus on creating effective and sustainable battery technologies. He is dedicated to developing scientific solutions for next-generation storage systems and clean energy.

Amankant Sahu
Amankant Sahu is a Mechanical Engineer and M.Tech. graduate in Electric Vehicle Technology from IIT Bhilai. His research focuses on advanced lithium-ion battery systems, particularly the mechanical, thermal, and structural design of battery cells using CAD, finite-element analysis, and multiphysics simulations. He has contributed to patent applications on innovative battery architectures and is the founder of Shastra Dynamics, where he works on advanced energy systems, electric mobility, and defence technologies.

Tilak Gandharv
M.Tech Project (2023-25)
Tilak Gandharv completed his Master’s degree in Electric Vehicle Technology (2023–2025). He earned his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg. During his postgraduate studies, his research was centered on the synthesis of hard carbon materials for sodium-ion battery applications, with a focus on enhancing energy storage performance through sustainable material design.

Kriteemoy Basu
M.Tech Project (2023-25)
Kriteemoy Basu completed his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He earned his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University. His research was focused on the development and modification of the dry electrode fabrication process for lithium-ion cells, aiming to improve manufacturing efficiency and electrochemical performance.

Sharma Ayushi Abhishek

Archit Jain
Archit completed his M.Sc. in Chemistry at IIT Bhilai, where his research focused on the development of carbon-coated Si/SiO₂ composites from waste silica via magnesiothermic reduction for lithium-ion battery anodes. His interests lie in energy storage materials and sustainable battery technologies. He is currently preparing for CSIR-NET and GATE while further strengthening his foundation in chemistry and pursuing research opportunities in advanced energy materials.

Naveen Kumar
M.Sc Project (2023-25)
Naveen Kumar completed his Master’s degree in Chemistry after earning his Bachelor of Science from St. Columba’s College, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. During his postgraduate studies, his research was focused on the development of advanced materials for electrochemical energy storage, with an emphasis on improving the performance and sustainability of next-generation battery systems.

Shristi Sahu
(May 2025 - May 2026)
Shristi Sahu received her Master’s degree in Material Science and Engineering from the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She worked as a Project Assistant at IIT Bhilai on the project “Synthesis and Applications of Sustainable Carbon Materials for High-Energy Li-ion Capacitors.” Her research interests include sustainable carbon materials, energy storage materials, and electrochemical energy storage.

Meenakshi Preeji
April 2026- June 2026
Meenakshi Preeji is a fourth-year integrated M.Sc. Chemistry student at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. She completed a two-month internship at IIT Bhilai, where she gained hands-on experience in Sol–Gel synthesis of LFP cathode material. Her research interests include energy storage materials and nanomaterial synthesis, and she intends to pursue a research career focused on developing sustainable energy solutions.

Rameshkannah NK
May 2026 - June2026
Rameshkannah NK is a second-semester MSc Chemistry student at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), Prasanthi Nilayam. He earned his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Muthayammal College of Arts and Science, Tamil Nadu. He completed a six-week internship at IIT Bhilai, where he gained hands-on experience in the synthesis and electrochemical characterization of silicon-graphite composite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. His research interests include electrochemical energy storage and materials chemistry, and he intends to pursue further research in developing sustainable, efficient battery technologies. and clean energy.
